Society Lecture (Zoom) – Clerical Wars: the Coming of Anglo-Catholicism to 19th century St Ives, Professor David Yeandle @ Zoom Meeting Room
Apr 14 @ 7:30 pm – 9:45 pm

Clerical Wars: the Coming of Anglo-Catholicism to 19th Century St Ives, David Yeandle, Professor Emeritus, Kings College, London.

David is a native of St Ives who has spend a lifetime studying medieval German literature, but this evening will bring us an illustrated version of a paper being prepared for ‘Records of Huntingdonshire’ on the very different world of clerical behaviour and public reaction in a quiet English market town with one of the great socio-religious struggles of the Victorian Age thrust upon it. How did this happen and what were the consequences are questions to be addressed.

Details of how to access the Zoom Meeting Room will be sent to all members a week prior to the meeting.

The lecture is open to all non members. If you wish to attend the online lecture please contact David Smith by email at info@huntslhs.org.uk and he will send you the Zoom link details.
