Goodliff
Grants- Information for Applicants 2007
1.
The Goodliff Fund was established as a result of the generous bequest
of
Phyllis Goodliff (1897-1993) of Huntingdon. The fund exists to further
the
object of the Society, which is the advancement of local history in
Huntingdonshire.
2.
Grants are given for the following purposes:
a)
For research into and
promotion of the history of Huntingdonshire and associated
publication, including individual study and educational projects
concerned with
local history.
b) For preserving the heritage,
including museum and archives special acquisitions and for projects
concerned
with conserving, cataloguing, displaying and interpreting them.
c) For any other purpose
approved by the Committee.
Eligibility
3.
Individual applicants need not be members of Huntingdonshire Local
History
Society.
4.
Publicly funded institutions are eligible for grant but projects or
services
supported will normally be those additional to that normally provided.
5.
No member or close relative of the society’s sub-committee responsible
for
recommending awards may apply for a grant.
6.
Grants of up to 60% of the total cost of the project may be applied for
but the
society will determine the level of grant depending on the character of
the
projects, the requirements of the Society’s own activities, on
resources
available and alternative sources of funding.
Conditions
7.
Grant-aid can only be given in respect of cost approved beforehand. It
cannot
be applied for retrospectively.
8.
Payments of awarded grants to institutions will normally only be made
after the
approved expenditure has been incurred and upon evidence of that
expenditure.
9.
All grants shall be taken up by 30th April 2008.
If projects are not
satisfactorily completed moneys shall be returned to the Society.
10.
Any permanent record of a project or publication, etc. aided by the fund should bear an acknowledgement to “the
Goodliff Fund of the Huntingdonshire
Local History Society”.
11.
Three copies of any publication supported by the fund shall be
presented to the
society.
12.
The society reserves the right to attach special conditions to the
award of any
grant which an accepting applicant will be required to accept in
writing.
Applications
13.
Full details should be given on the official form. This should include
the
names of two referees, one of whom should be expert in the area of the
intended
research or project and the other familiar with the applicant. Plans
and
costings should be submitted where appropriate. Applicants are expected
to have
sought alternative quotations for goods, services or materials and may
be asked
to provide evidence of this.
14.
Applications should be made by 31 March
2007. Applicants will be informed as soon as a decision has
been approved
by the Society’s committee around June 2007.
