Huntingdon Methodist Church 2:30 pm, Wednesday 22nd Febraury – Presentation and Workshop on the Small Finds from the A14 Archaeology
Now that the A14 new road has been open for some time we can look back on this immense archaeological project, the amazing finds of which we heard about some in 2018. This may seem a long time ago, but the amount of work being carried out by the Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA) team on the post-excavation phase continues as they identify, assess, catalogue and preserve a huge number of finds and discoveries. What has been unearthed has rewritten some of our previous understanding of Bronze and Iron Age, Roman and Saxon life in the Great Ouze area and the land south of Fen Stanton, Godmanchester, Offord, Buckden and Brampton.
We have arranged for experts from MOLA to come an tell us about the ‘small finds’ and to lead us in a workshop of discovery on them. The afternoon will begin with a Powerpoint presentation, which will be open to all, and will be followed by a workshop for a discrete number only. The event is open to members and if you want to book plese contact David Smith by email at info@huntslhs.org.uk.
More details to follow shortly.
